Plant Material

ENVIROTECH specializes in wetland plant, prairie grass and forb propagation for habitat restoration and wetland mitigations. Envirotech supplies top-quality container and bare root plant material and has an experienced plant installation staff. All prairie species will be shipped in deep plug containers, which allow ample space for root growth and development. Wetland species will be shipped, either in deep plugs or bare root, as determined by the conditions most suitable for the plant material.

All of the plants will be grown in soils inoculated with beneficial bacteria and mycorrhizae. These soil organisms are an integral part of the prairie system and will contribute to more vigorous and healthy plants. Most soils found in residential areas lack these vital soil organisms due to lack of organic material in the soil and previous use of chemical herbicides, pesticides, and fungicides. All of the plant species offered are native to the Midwest and many are native to Ohio. Most of the species offered are useful in natural or landscaped settings.
